GRS Building products has joined the Ethical Trading Initiative (ETI), a leading alliance of companies, trade unions and other organisations that promotes respect for workers' rights around the globe.
Joining the ETI means GRS has demonstrated explicit commitment to ensuring that its products have not been made at the hands of exploited workers. It’s also a recognition that global supply chains are highly complex and worker’s rights issues are best tackled through collaborative action with other organisations.
All corporate members of ETI agree to adopt the ETI Base Code of labour practice, which is based on the standards of the International Labour Organisation (ILO). Since its inception over twenty years ago, GRS Building Products (GRSBP) has developed into a market-leading independent supplier of building products to the builder’s merchant and retail sectors.
John Bradshaw, GRS Building Products Business Performance Manager said: "Reliability and integrity of supply are essential to GRS and the blue-chip organisations we supply. This focus on quality standards is what led us to seek membership with ETI and contribute to relevant stakeholder initiatives within our sector."
"We have always had a strong focus on customer service and quality; membership of the ETI further demonstrates our commitment to ethical and environmental standards which are essential in the supply of natural aggregates and materials. We are delighted to have gained foundation membership and are looking forward to working towards and achieving full corporate membership."
